PEACE ALLIANCE CAMPAIGN CALLS FOR U.S. DEPARTMENT OF PEACE
 

A bill before the Congress of the United States would establish a Department of PEACE that would propose and oversee non-violent solutions to internal and international conflicts.

Although the idea was originally proposed 300 years ago by President George Washington, a Campaign by the Peace Alliance Campaign has led to introduction of legislation in Congress.  The bill is gaining momentum, in the midst of  increasing domestic and international concern about the role of the US Administration in conflicts in the world.  The Peace Alliance Campaign to establish a Dept. of Peace is a nationwide initiative.
